Heb 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Throughout the New Testament we are admonished to have social interaction, or fellowship, with one another.  We believe the local church is ordained by God to be the place where God and His will are revealed to us through the scriptures.  It is also the place where we share the love of Christ with one another, the place where we encourage one another and pray for one another, the place where we discover our individual gifts, and the place where we worship Him together.
